Isla Mujeres

A beautiful little island in front of Cancun. There are a lot of people riding around in a golf cart, you can hire one when you arrive and explore the place. There are lots of nice little restaurants, shops and wonderful beaches to discover. In my opinion the most beautiful beaches are in Isla Mujeres. There are ferries that depart from Cancun throughout the day.
Tulum

Tulum is a small developing town with a bohemian atmosphere with lots of beach clubs, restaurants and shops. The beaches are very beautiful, large and quieter than in Playa del Carmen.
The different establishments maintain complete harmony with the natural environment and offer a unique experience of peace and tranquility.
It is a place that is growing rapidly. About 45 minutes by car from Playa del Carmen.
Bacalar and its freshwater lagoon

What can we say about this magnificent lagoon, except that it is probably one of the most beautiful bodies of water in Mexico and perhaps on the continent? Its tones change from turquoise blue to emerald green or from sky blue to electric blue depending on the depth or the time of day.
This particularity gave it the name of “Lagoon with seven colors”. The homonymous village has an old-fashioned charm, perhaps thanks to its discolored houses or the nonchalance of its inhabitants, Mayans, half-breeds or Garifunas from nearby Belize. A beautiful, peaceful and warm place. Bacalar is about 3.5 hours from Playa del Carmen by car.
Las Coloradas

A picture is worth a thousand words…
Holbox

A small quiet island, not yet well known but which will soon be a destination of choice. There are no cars on the island only golf carts. The beaches are heavenly, it is an ideal place to rest. About 1 hour and a half from Playa del Carmen by car.
Sian ka’an
Experience a special day in the natural paradise and biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an and discover one of the best preserved tropical forests in the northern hemisphere and crystal clear sea water. You can also drive by jeep through beautiful nature and keep your eyes open to admire the birds of Mexico. In the corner you can see lizards, turtles and dolphins in their natural environment. You then have the opportunity to snorkel in the coral reef and meet the diverse marine life of the Caribbean.
This reserve is part of one of the largest protected areas in Mexico, with 651,029 hectares of terrestrial, coastal and marine ecosystems. It also includes 120 km from the great Maya reef. The diversity in Sian Ka’an is exceptional, seeing that there is a tropical jungle, mangroves, marshes, a savannah and the sea. The cenotes are a geological, biological and cultural feature, they are deep natural wells which host fascinating life forms, many of which are endemic.
There are walks for bird watching and tours for sport fishing or fly fishing, you can practice kayaking, walk in the jungle, go snorkeling, navigate the old canals surrounded by mangroves, take a boat trip through the lagoons and visit the marshes, or explore the archaeological sites. All tours are done with total respect for nature and with the idea of conserving the reserve.
Take the opportunity to go to the Muyil canal and let yourself float in a magnificent natural canal from one lagoon to another. I love this activity.
